Roses - Lancaster

This year it was Lancaster’s turn to host the Battle of the Roses. A 750m long course along the river Lune was the venue for the 9 head to head races. Lancaster dominated against rivals York, winning 8 of the 9 races. With 20 roses points available from 6 races, Lancaster picked up an impressive 16 points. Despite the heavy rain LUBC enjoyed a good days racing and was for many club members their first taste of regatta style racing.

WeHORR Results

LUBC’s Women’s 1st VIII made the trip down to London to race on the Thames in the Women’s Head of the River Race over the weekend. Unfortunately the crew was unable to row their LUBC boat they had trained in due to various unpredictable events. However this did not hamper the women, as they managed an impressive overall position of 128th from 268 crews. Within their S4 division this correlated to 16th out of 55 crews. Encouraging signs from a crew with many members new to the sport.
